Here is the story of how it all started, as told by EQUAA´s executive director.

“In around March of 2019 a Project was proposed to EQUAA. It was related to blockchain certifications, soft-skill measurments and group builidings through a mobile application. I loved the initiative and proposed the Project to EQUAA´s president, proffessor Antonio Freitas. At 3 in the morning, I received an email from him with many suggestions related to the Project. That was the first hint that we were on to something big and important.

We then presented the Project at the EQUAA Annual Forum which that year took place in Sao Paulo. We had a private meeting with 20 people from different institutions. The result of that meeting was our second hint to continue working and developing the Project.

The Project was approved to be presented at INQAAHE in March 2020, the international network of accreditation agencies in higher education. This was another step towards motivating the team to develop INVICTA by EQUAA.

Beginnings of March 2020, stress was taking a toll on the team and time was scarce before the INQAAHE event would take place middle of March in Moscu, Russia. Unfortunately, COVID 19 had other plans for the entire world and postponed the event. Not all was bad and this gave us some more time to continue testing and developing INVICTA.

After several tests along a year and half of dedicated work and including people from different parts of the world, INVICTA by EQUAA was ready to be launched on August 20, 2020. It was launched with 3 webinars for 3 different time zones. One webinar in Spanish mainly for LatinAmerica, one in english and finally one in portuguese.

Less than 2 weeks after the launch, we were already creating teams in 7 countries to develop INVICTA by EQUAA, receiving emails and calls from academics who wanted to collaborate with us. This filled us with enthusiasm and provided further indication that we are doing something that will positively change for better higher education institutions.

Today, september 15, 2020 we are happy to announce the INVICTA by EQUAA webpage and invite you to be a part of us. Thanks to all of you who are Reading this story, since you are probably already part of this story or may well become part of it as of now.
